Now hurry: My adventure highlight 2021 will soon be removed from the Game Pass

October is almost over and one look at Game Pass means that some games will be phased out of the subscription service at the end of the month. This also includes The Forgotten Citywhich I would like to strongly recommend to you before it is too late.

An exciting time warp journey that is worthwhile

This is The Forgotten City: Actually, this is a Skyrim mod that, thanks to its great success, has blossomed into a standalone game that has nothing to do with the Elder Scrolls universe.

In the mystery adventure we land in an underground Roman city that is cursed by a law (The Golden Rule) and where mysterious murders take place. Through questioning citizens, skillfully manipulating a time portal and making moral choices, we’ll try to find out what’s really going on in the city and how to break the time loop that’s keeping us trapped there. How the detective spectacle ends is entirely up to us, because there are several possible endings.

Here you can see a trailer for The Forgotten City (and don’t worry, there are German lyrics):

The Forgotten City – New trailer for the Roman detective game reveals the release date

When will The Forgotten City be removed from Game Pass? You have until October 31st to play through or complete the game. And that shouldn’t be a big problem since the story is loud HLTB takes just five to six hours. If you want to experience even more through the alternative endings, you can do it in just ten hours of play.

The Forgotten City shows its Skyrim past, but the multi-layered story and well-written characters make up for it. Like our protagonist, I was literally trapped in the ancient city and could hardly tear myself away. Rarely, despite such simple means, have I had such an urge and fun at the same time to solve mysteries and unlock multiple endings as here. And rarely have I sat so stunned in front of the screen when a twist caught me freezing and I just asked myself “WTF, what’s happening here?!”.

I can therefore only recommend anyone who is only interested in intelligent stories to play The Forgotten City and let it sink in – ideally with multiple endings. However, if you are looking for a lot of action, you will only find them here to a limited extent. While there are combat inserts, the game is first and foremost something for the brain. We definitely won’t get far in the ancient city by force. And anyone who knows the game knows what I mean by that.

Bye, Xbox Game Pass: You can see which games are still flying out of Game Pass in the near future in our October overview. You can also find the latest additions there.
