The finale was viewed by 9.3 million viewers, making it the biggest HBO finale since Game of Thrones. But now fans are left stranded – when will House of the Dragon season 2 continue? The waiting time will probably be long.

House of the Dragon: Filming doesn’t start until 2023
Filming on Season 2 of House of the Dragon hasn’t even started yet. In fact, these aren’t even starting until early 2023, so they’re still a few months away. Accordingly, viewers have to prepare for a release in 2024. That’s still a long way away, but at the same time the year 2022 is almost over anyway. No more re-casting in House of the Dragon: Cast Members Stay
After a few jumps in time in the first season of House of the Dragon, viewers had to get used to it again and again, as the actors were repeatedly exchanged for various roles – after all, small children first became teenagers and then adults. Only a few of the main characters from the first episodes remain, including Matt Smith as the psychotic fan favorite Daemon Targaryen and Rhys Ifans as the scheming Otto Hightower.
