New World: How much have player counts increased after the big update?
The fantasy island of Aeternum in New World is once again home to more adventurers – thanks to the “Sulphur Sands” update on October 18, 2022. We have carefully checked how the player numbers have improved thanks to the large patch.
On October 18, 2022, after a long wait, the time had finally come in New World: The big update about the sulfur sand desert went live! No other patch since the 2021 release has matched the scope of this update. Finally, thanks to the October 18, 2022 release, there’s now a new zone, the Greatsword weapon, a new expedition, special Heartgem skills, revamped starter quests for level 1-25 characters, and revamped cities in Pride Rock and Everfall! Phew, after this list we have to take a deep breath – but have many players also looked in for the many innovations?
More on New World: Greater now for beginners than a year ago – why is that?
How many players will New World have in October 2022?
On the day of release, up to 64,000 players were playing in the MMO world Aeternum at the same time – distributed over various servers, of course, although it was the same as with the release of New World (buy now €39.99 ) in 2021 there were queues again. But these weren’t nearly as big, the developers are definitely better prepared for the onslaught of players; although the release of New World was also about over 900,000 players. In comparison, the peak of 69,605 adventurers on Sunday evening October 21, 2022 seems paltry, but that’s not true.

New World is back! Don’t rest on your laurels, Amazon!
The rush at the original release of the Amazon MMORPG was absolutely gigantic and it was clear that many MMO enthusiasts were just desperately looking for a new western online role-playing game. The fact that New World has now reached player numbers again, which were last reached in February 2022, is a remarkable achievement. Now the developers just have to stay on the ball, but the many improvements since release suggest that New World definitely better than a year ago is.
