New World shares first roadmap for 2023 – announces raid boss and new crafting skills

The developers of New World have given a preview of upcoming updates in a new video. Some of these should appear at the end of 2022 or then in 2023. Especially the first raid boss in the game sounds very exciting. A new campaign with Twitch streamers was also announced.

What new content is to come? At the beginning of the video, Scot Lane and his guests talk about adjustments to the roadmap. The following new content is planned:

Two new dungeons, the first of which will be a unique mix of Amrhein and Starstone.
In December, the Winter Convergence Event returns.
The sandworm jumping through Brimstone Sands is said to become a real raid boss. This should be playable “soon” on the PTR server.
Outpost Storm is said to offer cross-server queues “soon”. This will especially help smaller servers to be able to play in the mode more often.
A better transmog system is coming.
There should be a better system for managing multiple equipments. This is necessary especially for mutations in dungeons.
There will be a new event in spring, which will then be repeated annually.
There should be new crafting skills. Exact details were not revealed.

Lane also revealed that the leaderboards for PvP arenas from the last roadmap were not finished in time and are being postponed for the time being.

A few weeks earlier, Lane had revealed to streamer Asmongold that mounts are also in the works (via YouTube). We sorely missed this in the new Brimstone Sands area. It is currently unclear whether these will appear in early 2023. They were not mentioned in this dev update.

Weapons should be adjusted faster, wars get a practice mode

What else was the video about? When it comes to weapon balance, the developers want to react faster and harder in the future so that one weapon doesn’t dominate for weeks or months. A nerf for muskets is supposed to come next.

In the wars there should be a function that should limit the maximum number of wars per day for one person. This should force companies to bet on players other than the same players. Also, there will be a 3 day cooldown when you will not be able to attend a war once you have left a company.

“Practice Wars” are also planned for the future, i.e. a practice map for the wars. However, these are currently not on the roadmap for the coming months.

New influencer campaign to bring streamers back to New World

What is the influencer campaign all about? With the Fresh Start servers on November 2nd, New World will launch the Return to Aeternum campaign. It’s about which of the four teams can complete the most achievements by November 18th.

There are also twitch drops for viewers again.
