Pokémon Crimson Lifts Annoying Character Customization Restrictions – Wear What You Want!

Pokémon Crimson and Crimson finally gives us more freedom in character design.

For the first time in the history of the series, Pokémon Crimson and Crimson takes us into a seamless open world and thus grants us more playful freedom than ever before. For example, we can now visit arenas in any order, and not only that: we now have more options when designing our character than in previous parts, because Game Freak is finally (!) introducing a very specific change in the ninth generation.

What’s new? Clothing and hairstyles are finally no longer tied to the gender of our character, in contrast to previous Pokémon editions.

How character customization works in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson

What does it mean exactly? At the beginning of the adventure, we will most likely choose either the female character (original name Juliana) or the male character (original name Florian) as usual. We can then individualize these by adjusting body characteristics such as skin color, eye shape and color as well as clothing and hairstyles.

This time we are free to choose our character’s clothes and hair. So no matter what gender our character is, he can wear anything. Short hair, long hair, braid, bob, side parting – just as we like.

In order to change our hairstyle, we have to visit a hairdresser in the game. All other character traits should be able to be changed directly in the menu, including clothing (via game8). In addition to standard school uniforms, crimson/crimson is said to offer a wide range of other clothing items, including various bags, shoes, shirts, trousers, socks and cases for our Rotom mobile phone. Clothing items are not tied to a specific gender this time either.

How does Pokemon Crimson and Crimson play?
