When does Season 15 start in Apex Legends?

Season 15 in Apex Legends begins on Tuesday 1 November 2022.

Not only is the Season 14 Battle Pass running to this day, the date has now been officially confirmed. With the end of the Season 14 Battle Pass, you can expect around two hours of server downtime while the new season called Apex Legends: Darkness is deployed.

What is Apex Legends: Eclipse about?

Apex Legends: Eclipse seems to revolve around the planet Boreas and the shattered moon in its orbit. Boreas is the home of Seer and the new legend, Catalyst. In addition to Catalyst, Seer could also play a major role in this season.

Seer joined Apex Legends in Season 10 and not much is known about the character compared to other characters. With Season 15, that could possibly change.

It is also speculated that a greater focus on Seer in Season 15 could mean that a Seer heirloom could be added with Apex Legends: Eclipse. So far, however, this has not been confirmed.

What does the new map Destroyed Moon look like?

The biggest innovation in Season 15 is the new map Destroyed Moon. It is the second largest map in the game. Significantly smaller than Storm Point (the largest map), but only slightly larger than World’s Edge. There are a total of 16 points of interest, two of which are said to be very large.

As the name suggests, it is a shattered moon orbiting Boreas, home of Seer and Catalyst. Anyone who has delved a little deeper into Seer’s story knows that on the day Seer was born, a meteorite hit the moon and ripped it in two.

There have been efforts to make the moon habitable again via terraforming, but Apex Games has secured a chunk of it for its newest arena. That’s why we have two completely different sides on the map here: one that looks idyllic and one with a rocky, barren landscape.

One of the most important features of the new map are the transport tracks. They are similar to ziplines, but they can also take turns and are faster. You will find many transport tracks on the map, but you are not quiet on the road. The use of the transport tracks is audible.

What can the new legend Catalyst do?

Apex Legends: Eclipse introduces Catalyst as a new legend in the game, and she comes with unique abilities. She is capable of handling ferrofluid, the material used to create structures.

As we saw in the Season 15 launch trailer, she can create ferrofluid traps on the ground that slow down enemies. Her ultimate ability appears to be the creation of a large ferrofluid wall that blocks vision and slows enemies that pass through her.

As for herself, we know from the trailer that she lost her boyfriend in the attack on Hammond Base on Boreas. Also, she seems to blame Seer for everything that happens on her homeworld.

Will there be new weapons in Season 15?

There were times when Respawn would release a new weapon with each new season. This happens less often these days as the range of weapons in the game is very good in Respawn’s eyes. The last new weapon was the CAR SMG in Season 11.

We know from previous leaks that new weapons are in development, such as the Nemesis, an assault rifle. There was also talk of the Fanatic Akimbo pistols and the fully automatic crossbow Scorpion C80. The Gemini SMG also sounds interesting. On its own, a fairly standard SMG with energy ammo, but it gets rate of fire and handling boosts when you’re carrying two Geminis (one in each weapon slot).

It is unclear whether we will see any of this in Season 15.

How will game balance change in Season 15?

It is always difficult to estimate in advance what changes will be made to the game balance, this also applies to Season 15.

There could be some bug fixes and adjustments for the recently released legend Vantage, otherwise no major problems are known. If there are adjustments, then maybe on weaker legends like Crypto, Pathfinder or Wattson.

But that’s just speculation before the start of Season 15. We’ll find out more shortly.

Of course, Season 15 also brings with it a new Battle Pass, which this time seems a bit cybernetically focused. It suits the new legend Catalyst and its techno-wizard vibes.
