Copy protections are not well received among gamers overall, and arguably the most controversial candidate here is Denuvo. This often causes performance problems in games, which is why it was of course not too good news that Denuvo will also be used in the upcoming remake of Resident Evil 4. Also, the recently released Gotham Knights relies on Denuvo, which certainly didn’t help the game’s already pretty mediocre reviews.
Added Denuvo back to Gotham Knights after all
Certainly some players who had trouble getting the game to run were happy when the first patch to Gotham Knights arrived (buy now / €53.99 ) Among other things, Denuvo was simply removed. In addition to some bug fixes, which increased the fun of the game, among other things Reddit some users are also happy about this fact.
Unfortunately, what initially looked like a pretty good thing turned out to be a mistake. It looks like the developers didn’t want to take Denuvo out of the game, because just a few hours later another small patch was released that enabled Denuvo again.
However, this subsequent patch probably came a little too late, because, among other things, on the Subreddit of seafarers was arrested, the internet pirates have already gotten their hands on the game. So if Denuvo is indeed causing performance issues, buyers of the game will continue to struggle with them while Denuvo’s core feature is pretty much useless.
