Why you now have to do without Mei for two weeks in Overwatch 2

The popular Overwatch 2 character Mei has been temporarily removed from the game by Blizzard.

For two weeks you have to do without Mei and in the meantime find another character to play with.

Bug causes problems

This is due to her Ice Wall ability, which allows her to create a large wall of ice in front of her.

A useful ability that can block both path and sight of enemies. However, her ability also causes problems.

In conjunction with certain abilities of other characters, it was possible to reach “unintended places” on maps. A user shows a clip on Twitter in which he can penetrate the wall of a building in this way. From there, it was possible to keep firing at enemies while not taking any damage yourself.

It is understandable that Blizzard would put a stop to this. Hence Mei’s temporary removal from the game.

“We’re temporarily disabling Mei to fix a bug with her Ice Wall ability,” Blizzard said. Her return is planned for the next patch, which is currently scheduled to be released on November 15th.
