Anyone who takes out a PS Plus Premium subscription has access to a large games library at all times. However, the titles do not necessarily remain in the service forever. The first departures were known shortly after the launch of the new service model, including the open-world epic Red Dead Redemption 2. Now the subscription time is up for a whole series that we would like to recommend to you again beforehand. We’re talking about mafia.

In addition to the Mafia series, two racing games, a motorcycle racing game and a motocross sim, are also flying out of the service. Playing all titles in the remaining time would be really sporty. But if you still have to catch up on a game from the Mafia series, that’s better possible.

This is how long you need for the mafia games: While you have to reckon with about ten to 12 hours for the main story of the first two parts, it is significantly more for part 3, namely about 25.

This is what awaits you in the Mafia series

We can recommend all three parts, but if you haven’t played a mafia title yet, you should definitely start with the great remake of the first game. You slip into the shoes of the taxi driver Tommy, who ends up in the underworld by accident. Its story is a gripping gangster drama with action-packed gameplay and an atmospheric 1930’s setting inspired by New York and Chicago.

Part 2, which has not received a complete remake but only a remaster, puts us in the shoes of a new protagonist and into a new decade. The story about the gangster Vito takes place in the 40s and 50s and also picks up speed.

The third part is not the strongest of the three, but thanks to its new setting and protagonist it still has its very own charm. This time it’s 1968 and New Orleans-inspired New Bordeaux, where we play Vietnam veteran Lincoln Clay. The soundtrack features bands like the Stones.

Do you plan on playing one or more of these games before they leave the service?
