Warhammer: Vermintide 2 – Free on Steam until November 7th
Developer Fatshark is celebrating the seventh anniversary of the Tide franchise. Ahead of the November 30th release of Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, players on Steam are currently getting 2018’s Warhammer: Vermintide 2 for free. There are also other birthday promotions.
The development studio Fatshark is using November, which has just begun, to drum up advertising for the upcoming Warhammer 40,000: Darktide. The Tide franchise is celebrating its seventh anniversary these days, which the developers are taking as an opportunity for some birthday promotions. From November 4th to 7th, players can pick up Warhammer: Vermintide 2, which was released in 2018, for free on Steam. Once the game has been added to your own library, it can always be kept and played even after the promotion.
Free game, update and cosmetic DLCs
But it shouldn’t stop with the free game. Following the Free-to-Keep promotion, Trail of Treachery is a free update to Warhammer: Vermintide 2 on November 8th. In the new DLC you have to escort a caravan with valuable cargo to Tockstadt. However, the remote village is beset by strange and unusual events. The first map of a two-part adventure will be released on November 8th, with the second part to follow in 2023.
Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is scheduled for release on November 30th. Those who pre-order will get early access to the collaborative title starting November 17th. Players previously in Vermintide 1 or Vermintide 2 were active should receive the cosmetic DLC Devoted Rejects Pack in Darktide.
Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is a first-person co-op game that pits four players against waves of different enemies. Users can develop their heroes and choose from different professions and talent trees. While Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is offered for free in the basic version during the anniversary promotion, there are other paid and free DLCs that expand the game even further.
