Leaked: First images from Metal Gear mastermind Hideo Kojima’s new game!
The developer Hideo Kojima became world-famous for his work on Metal Gear Solid and is repeatedly celebrated within the video game industry for his unusual ideas. But they don’t appeal to everyone, his last big title Death Strandingnicknamed “packet boat simulator” by some critics designated. You can read our very personal impression of the blockbuster in our test report from 2019. Immediately after the release of his first fully self-produced title, Kojima immediately started working on a new title. In the last few months there have been repeated rumors about what it could be about. A supposed leak reveals the first details.
This is shown by the leak of Hideo Kojima’s new game
A bizarre video shows the first gameplay excerpts from the supposedly new project of the developer. It seems to be of a kind survival horror game to act and with a top-class cast. As in Death Stranding Hollywood actress Margaret Qualley again play an important role.
The nearly 3-minute clip shows a third-person female protagonist walking down a dark hallway, spooky noises can be heard intermittently in the background, and the flickering light periodically reveals one dark shapepossibly a monster or a killer.
Eventually, the character gets frightened and runs into a small closet, resulting in a jump scare followed by a game-over-screen. Finally, the words “A Hideo Kojima Production” and the name appear “overdose” on the screen.
The excerpt described became the same filmed twice from one screen and in the lower left corner, a woman holding a smartphone is playing the track. This suggests that Overdose is a mobile game could act or it can at least be played with a mobile device.
How credible is the supposed leak?
The scenes from the video actually match the description of an anonymously sent clip that the magazine TryHardGuides already in June 2022 had received. According to their own statements, the journalists were even asked by Kojima Productions to take the article offline. At the current time, the former Konami vice president has not commented on the TryHardGuides statement, nor on the leaked material.
