Overdose: Leaks show Kojima’s new game for the first time
Several leaks are currently circulating on the Internet showing footage from Hideo Kojima’s new game, which is said to be called Overdose. Several screenshots and a video reveal the first details of the ominous title.
It is considered certain that Hideo Kojima is working on at least one new game that is presumably titled “Overdose”. But aside from the mastermind behind Metal Gear Solid and Death Stranding confirming work on a new project in cooperation with Microsoft, we don’t know anything about the game – at least until now.
Because several screenshots and a video have appeared on the Internet, which give a first, very blurry look at Overdose. The screenshots appeared on several private Discord servers and thus became public. The Polish website PPE published the images, which appear to have been photographed from a screen. They feature a female character in a blue dress reminiscent of the character Mama from Death Stranding (played by Margaret Qualley).
Shortly thereafter, a video with around 2.5 minutes of gameplay scenes also made the rounds, which was initially available on the streamable platform, but then quickly disappeared again due to violation of the terms of use. However, it is still online on YouTube. The video shows the same scene that can be seen on the screenshots.
The video is apparently a recording for internal purposes. We see a person playing Overdose via a mobile device, suggesting that the title may be related to Microsoft’s planned cloud technology for gamers. After all, Kojima has already officially confirmed its cooperation with Microsoft. Otherwise there are still no official statements about Overdose, let alone about the leaks. So fans will have to wait until Kojima Productions releases an official teaser trailer for the game.
