No chat, but still toxic – The FUT community and its bad reputation
The FIFA 23 community is once again under criticism and has to face the accusation of being toxic. We show where the bad reputation comes from.
VANCOUVER, CANADA – FIFA 23 is the most successful title in EA’s long-standing series and accordingly brings with it a large community. The fact that this does not enjoy the best reputation should be known recently. Even in the new FIFA 23, the FUT players don’t exactly cover themselves with glory. FIFA 23: Toxic community – streamers, time game and Co. – That’s where the bad image comes from
No chat, but time game: How can the FIFA 23 community be toxic if there is no chat? If you take a look at other titles whose communities are classified as toxic, such as League of Legends or Dota 2, you will notice that the games each have voice or text chat.
In FIFA 23, players cannot communicate directly with each other. However, an omnipresent toxic element is time play in FUT. Since there is no counter to this method, it is extremely frustrating. Streamers exemplify Rages: Getting upset over a video game is natural. In FIFA 23, however, this occurs more than average. On Twitch, every streamer burns through the fuse every now and then. Golden Goal Rule: Within the FUT community there is an unwritten rule. If a goal is scored in friendly game mode, the opponent must leave the game. To make it clear that a game is over, FIFA 23 players name their FUT team “Golden Goal”.
