WoW: Dragonflight: Court of Stars – massive reduction in profession bonuses
In WoW: Dragonflight, some old dungeons are returning to the list of current Mythic Plus dungeons. Including the Court of Stars from Legion. However, the instance gets some revisions. Among other things, the bonuses that you unlock through various professions will be massively weakened.
When the first Mythic Plus season starts in WoW: Dragonflight, we only get four of the new dungeons from Dragon Island. These are supplemented with four more dungeons that the developers have collected from previous expansions. In theory, this should kill three birds with one stone.
The eight new dungeons stay fresh longer, old content is no longer idle and you can get cool content for Dragonflight for little development effort. But especially with the latter, the impression gradually arises that it could not be true. As much work as the developers had to put into the old dungeons to adjust them halfway. And it keeps going. Now it’s up to one of the mechanics Court of the Stars used to be known for.
Profession bonuses in the Court of Stars are becoming a joke
In the Court of Stars, the various professions could bring massive benefits. For almost every profession there was a specific mechanic that a scholar of the profession could perform to give their party an advantage. These bonuses might not all have the same power, but they do ensure that the professions don’t feel quite as useless as they sadly did back then.
With WoW (buy now ): Dragonflight, the developers now seem to want the choice of professions not to be based on a preference for Mythic Plus dungeons. The bonuses in the Court of Stars will remain, but will be massively reduced. At least that applies to the bonuses of blacksmiths and engineers. However, it can be assumed that the remaining professions will receive bonuses, even if the nerf there is likely to be much weaker.
- Engineering Buff: Without a doubt, the active Engineer Orb was the strongest profession buff in the Court of Stars. Once activated, all were Sentinel Constructs permanently stunned. The otherwise very dangerous opponents became free percentages. They still had to be knocked down, but they didn’t fight back and were practically just training dummies.
- In the new variant, they remain Guardian Constructs active and are stunned for 5 seconds every 30 seconds. They also deal 25 percent less damage. Self-healing and self-reinforcement charging station but must still be interrupted.
- Blacksmithing Buff: The Blacksmith’s Trap could previously have one of the mini-bosses with Pierced! kill on the fly, which was very effective.
- Now it only drains 10% of the target’s life and increases damage taken by 25% for 30 seconds.
Both buffs are still buffs. But not so strong that you would build your group around it. In practice, in Legion times, no group tackled the high-level keys without having an engineer with them. That should be different in WoW: Dragonflight. At the same time, however, it seems that the developers still want to give the various professions a small bonus so that it still feels positive to practice a suitable profession.
