In Warzone 2.0 you don’t have to do without your favorite weapons.

After it was first said in September that there would actually be no loadout drops like in the first Warzone, we can now give the all-clear: In CoD Warzone 2 there are now loadout drops after all. As a result, you are not tied to the weapons found, but can replace them with your favorite weapons. There are various ways to gain access to the primary weapon of your created loadout, for example.

3 ways you can get access to your loadout

While in Warzone 1 the loadout drops only come down twice in a match or can be bought at Buy Stations, things are a little different in Warzone 2. Activision has in the official Call of Duty Blog presented three ways:

  • Possibility 1 – shops: Players can spend match-earned money in the shops (formerly Buy Station) to purchase their primary weapon from their created loadouts.
  • Option 2 – Public Loadout Drop Events: Loadout drops are dropped in the middle of Battle Royale matches in Al Mazrah. These are not limited or assigned to individual squads, but can be used by all players.
  • Possibility 3 – Strongholds and Black Sites: Players can also receive their loadout as a reward for beating Stronghold Fortresses or Black Sites.

What are strong holds? It refers to Fortresses on the map where you have to kill AI opponents in order to defuse a bomb within a time limit.

What are black sites? An even more dangerous form of fortresses awaits you here. However, they are only available if you have a Black Site key.

In addition, in-match money can be used in-game to purchase the primary weapon from created loadouts.

A roadmap for Warzone 2 and Modern Warfare 2 was also presented in the detailed blog entry:

CoD Warzone 2.0 will launch on November 16, 2022, along with Season 1 of Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2. Like Part 1, it relies on a Free2Play model. In addition to the Battle Royale matches, there will also be third-person playlists. There is also a new mode, DMZ, in which you have to complete tasks.

You can find everything there is to know about the launch of the new battle royale shooter in our Warzone 2 overview.
