117,000 followers on Steam: What is behind Nobody - The Turnaround?

The Steam Database sorts the releases for the next few weeks also based on their followers. There are a lot of indie games among them, but they usually only have a few thousand viewers. Nobody – The Turnaround, which will be released on November 17, 2022 on Steam, naturally stands out here with a total of 117,000 followers. It is a survival simulator that takes place in a parallel world that is supposed to be very similar to modern society.

“The story takes place in a modern metropolis, but not in the concrete jungle as you know it. It’s more about the undergrowth, the much less glamorous neighborhoods where real life takes place,” it says the Steam page. The player starts as an ordinary “nobody” with no elite background, no special training and no outstanding family background. You can overcome your problems with hard work and decisive action.

Nobody – The Turnaround on Steam: Life Simulator comes from China

According to the developer, Nobody – The Turnaround aims to accurately depict the working and living conditions of the working class. You can have accidents at work, have a breakdown in the face of other people’s paychecks, or even get sick after spending another night on the street. “Your life can be affected by various unexpected and random events and you must do your best to survive.”

Just like in the real world, players must work their way up from simple jobs like postman to becoming a skilled worker. Private life should also be organized in a meaningful way. For example, you can play Chinese chess on the street corner or games in an Internet café: the character’s mood stands and falls with a satisfactory leisure time activity.

Those who interact with others are said to unlock hidden stories. “It’s even possible that you might court some of them and build a life together.” In addition to the story mode, there is also a sandbox mode that you apparently unlock through the former.

Nobody – The Turnaround is distributed by the Chinese publisher Thermite Games and developed by the company’s own U.Ground Game Studio. This probably also explains why there is an English user interface, but only a Chinese voice output. A German translation does not currently exist. Whether this is necessary can be clarified in advance: You can allude to Survival Simulator Nobody with the on Steam offered demo version.
