7 vs. Wild Season 2 Episode 3: These are the highlights – Contestants’ shelter construction
What happens in Episode 3 of 7 vs Wild? After the participants have arrived and gotten more or less familiar with their surroundings in Panama, they work diligently on places to sleep. The candidates are busy building the shelter. But not everyone on the tropical island will spend the first night with a roof over their heads. Here you can see the intermediate status of the shelter situation.
Fritz Meinecke spent the day exploring, leaving him with nothing in the end. Nova, on the other hand, has nothing to worry about with her bivouac sack. We have episode 3 for you to read and show how Otto pulls blank, Nova sees a shark, Knossi smokes his first cigarette, Sabrina’s shelter falls over for the 100th time, Joris fights with the prickly palm trees and Sascha gets along without objects.
7 vs. Wild Season 2 Episode 3: These are the highlights – Shelter construction is going particularly badly here
What is Fritz doing? Fritz Meinecke goes on a tour of discovery. Its unforgiving starting spot is in a rocky area that is completely submerged at high tide. The survival expert therefore has to search a long time before he finds a suitable place to sleep in the jungle. During his investigations, Fritz comes across remnants of the island’s old military past in Panama. With 7 vs. Wild, Knossi is “on a bomb” because his starting spot is right on the edge of such a test zone.
Although Fritz gets his hands on an old net that, with a little imagination, can represent a hammock, it tears while he is building his sleeping place – 30 minutes before nightfall. Either Fritz will remain nocturnal in episode 4 of 7 vs. Wild or have to look for a makeshift shelter replacement. Maybe he can sleep on plastic bottles – the island of 7 vs. Wild is full of rubbish.
This works with Sabrina: After her construction from the first episode collapsed for what felt like the 100th time, Sabrina takes a new approach. Smaller shelter with better statics. She’s supposed to make a roof with leaves, but she’ll probably have to sleep on the floor the first night – in the next episode she’ll take care of a fire.
Sascha works like crazy: Sascha Huber has buried his items at 7 vs. Wild and is struggling with the consequences of his hardcore challenge. The shelter construction is extremely difficult and takes about 5 hours. The result: a makeshift shelter with a hard panel. The fitness influencer is also going to have an uncomfortable night.
7 vs. Wild Season 2 Episode 3: Shelter construction bears fruit – Here the night can come
Knossi is doing so bravely: Even if the Twitch streamer doesn’t have the best 7 vs Wild credentials, his items save him. Knossi spans the hammock he brought with him between two palm trees on the beach. A first lying test with the best view shows: the shelter is ready for the first night. With his fire steel, Knossi is the first participant in 7 vs. Wild to light a campfire.
Knossi’s injury in 7 vs. Wild episode 2 is not as bad as initially thought – so the streamer does not need the medikit. Otherwise Knossi fails when harvesting coconuts and even those that are lying on the ground he cannot open despite his machete. After a short shower, Knossi lights one of the seven extra-long cigarettes on the embers of his fire. He cuts the filter in half with his teeth – good tinder for next time. We have linked the segment with Knossis Kippenpause here.
Joris gets inventive: Joris finds two logs on the bank that make a good base for a hammock. Some bamboo canes and old fishing nets later, he tinkers a bed frame with a lying surface, which makes a very comfortable impression. It is not yet clear how well the construction will hold up in the end. His shelter doesn’t have a roof yet and Joris has to admit that he has no idea how to do it.
Joris wants to build a pad out of palm leaves – it’s just stupid that every palm tree in the vicinity is covered with thorns. He will have to painstakingly de-pine them by hand. Also quite frustrating: after many failed attempts in the second episode, Joris still hasn’t lit a fire.
7 vs. Wild Season 2 Episode 3: Shelter is up, little things are missing – Otto and Nova have the most progress
This is how it went at Nova: The Twitch streamer is rarely featured in this episode. Thanks to her bivouac sack, Nova is well prepared and doesn’t have to deal with the construction of the shelter. Although she lacks a roof over her head, as long as it doesn’t rain, she will probably sleep best of all participants at 7 vs. Wild. She’s also happy that she’s not alone. Nova sees a shark right off the shore of her spot – she copes very well with the knowledge that she swam through this water to the shore.
Otto pulls blank: Above you can see the Giga-Chad’s shelter. Otto shows himself as God created him and thus gives episode 3 its name. He builds his shelter into a wall so that he has a roof without any additional work. Otto struggled for a long time with a hard wooden board, but finally decided to use bamboo canes as a base. Still not optimal, but it’s definitely one of the safest shelters. Even if he will make it through the night well, there is still some work to be done.
