Despite – or maybe because of – the slow start to 2020, Crystal Dynamics keeps making changes to the co-op fighting game Marvel’s Avengers made, new content introduced and some of the criticized content removed again. But since Spider-Man was added as a new playable hero on December 17, 2021, there have been no fresh characters. But now there was a new sign of life: The Winter Soldier should find its way into the game as an additional fighter with its own mission chain on November 29, 2022.

In our test of Marvel’s Avengers (grade 5.0), tester Hagen found praise for the start of the campaign, but later bogged down in copy-paste missions with an unmotivating loot spiral. The attempt to bring experience boosters into the game for real money failed and was removed from the game by Crystal Dynamics.

More news about the 2.7 update with the Winter Soldier and beyond will follow later. At the moment it is unclear what the future of the live service game will be after the sale of Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal to Embracer Group.
