Rainbow Six Siege will debut cross-play and new content on consoles next month

Rainbow Six Siege will launch cross-play on consoles next month GamersRD

Eighteen months after Ubisoft announced its plans to bring crossplay and cross-progression to Rainbow Six Siege, its long-awaited console release is almost here, with a release now scheduled for December 6 as part of the last season of year 7, Operation Solar Raid.

Crossplay and cross-progression have, of course, been available in Rainbow Six Siege for some time now, but only between PC, Stadia, and Luna. However, starting next month, it will open up to incorporate PlayStation and Xbox, so console owners can take advantage of the features as well.

Starting December 6, console players can access their progress, currency, and other items across all platforms simply by logging into their accounts. They can also team up with friends on other consoles via Ubisoft Connect, though it’s possible to opt out of crossplay if they prefer.

Far from cross play and cross progression, Operation Solar Raid features Defender Solis, a “medium speed, medium health” Operator armed with either a P90 or an ITA 12L as his primary weapon and an SMG-11 as his secondary weapon.

Solis can use her SPEC-IO Electro-Sensor device to analyze and identify attacker devices, including drones and intrusion devices, and is equipped with gloves that allow her to interact with the device overlay and trigger a group scan.
