Microsoft sells €200 bundle with 2 top games for PC and Xbox for 70 cents – but has now noticed the error

Last week Microsoft offered a bundle for the game “Forza Horizon” much too cheaply in the Swedish Xbox store. The bundle actually costs 200 euros, but went out for 70 cents. But those who struck early can’t celebrate this time: Microsoft reverses the purchase.

What is this bundle? It’s the “Forzia Horion 4 and Forza Horizon 5 Premium Editions Bundle”:

• The bundle actually costs €199.999 in the German store – but it is currently reduced to €79.99 for another 7 days (via xbox.com)
• The bundle has 79.41 gigabytes. It is offered for PC, Xbox One and the Xbox Series.
• The Premium Bundle includes two of the best racing games of all time: Forza Horizon 5 got 92% (Xbox Series X) on Metacritic, Forza Horizon 4 also got 92% (Xbox One).

Forum users look forward to bargains of the century

What was the problem? Apparently due to a mistake by Microsoft, the game in the Swedish store was not reduced to around €80 a week ago, but to 70 cents – i.e. in Swedish kronor.

A user of the ResetEra forum saw this on Thursday and pointed his forum friends to the Swedish version of the Xbox store where the game was so extremely cheap, with the note, “Get it while it lasts.” (via resetera)

As you can imagine, the thread was a resounding success: people from Europe and the UK relied on the offer – bargain hunters from the US got nothing.

Microsoft removes bundle again, gives money back

This is the rude awakening now: As the people from Resetera report, Microsoft has now noticed its mistake and is not showing any goodwill, like EA with FIFA.

People say: Microsoft took the bundle away from them but generously replaced the 70 cents. That was probably just too good to be true.

The story can also be seen as a disadvantage of the digital age, if Microsoft had already sent out the boxes it would have been difficult to reclaim them.

Nevertheless, when in doubt, you should probably just snap at such snappers, because sometimes you really can keep the prey:
