This is what The Witcher 3 looks like on PS5 and Xbox Series X/S - new video shows you more

It’s not long until The Witcher 3’s next-gen upgrade, and now you’re getting your first glimpse of what the new versions look like.

And it’s not just consoles where improvements can be expected, on PC you’ll get support for ray tracing, DLSS and FSR, as well as new Ultra Plus graphics options that further enhance character rendering and so on.

Improvements everywhere

Improvements have been made across the board, whether in the display of grass and foliage, weather conditions, higher resolution textures and so on.

The cobblestones in Novigrad no longer consist of normal maps, but are completely modeled in 3D. You can also see smoke rising from chimneys in distant settlements.

There are new performance and quality modes on consoles where you can choose between better graphics at 30 fps or faster performance at 60 fps.

Photoshoot with Geralt

A photo mode has also been newly added, with which you can make various settings in order to take the best possible snapshot.

We also have a new, but optional, camera perspective that will bring you closer to the action when you’re on foot or on horseback – or both.

You can also expect new filters for the map, improvements to the controls, more options for usability and other bug fixes.

The game will also receive a new update on PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch, but it is still unclear what exactly is on offer there.

The next-gen update for The Witcher 3 arrives on December 14th.
