MontanaBlack threatened to withdraw from Twitch – Now he’s sending big influencers to jail on his own show on Joyn

Marcel “Montana Black“ Eris (34) is one of the most successful German streamers on Twitch. But he has probably been dissatisfied with his streaming home for a long time and has already threatened to withdraw from the platform. His project on the Joyn streaming service is scheduled to start in December.

What is this project? With “Get Away”, MontanaBlack gets its own show on the streaming platform Joyn: Joyn is a joint project of several media companies, which also include the stations ProSieben and Sat 1. The advertising is omnipresent when you watch one of the channels.

In addition to the media libraries of individual television stations, there are own productions on Joyn. It is not the first project with a streamer for the streaming platform: “Knossis Kingdom” with the German entertainer Jens “Knossi” Knossalla was broadcast there in July.

What should MontanaBlack’s show be about? Get Away is said to be an escape show. In a disused prison, some of the biggest German influencers will then have to complete individual and team challenges in order to finally escape from prison.

MontanaBlack is to act as host and accomplice together with ProSieben presenter Steven Gätjen (including Joko & Klaas against ProSieben). He will probably help the participants in their escape attempts or hinder them.

In the grand finale there should then be a “particularly surprising challenge”.

Who are the participants? 4 German influencers will compete against each other at Get Away. Some of the biggest Twitch streamers in Germany will be there:

when is the show coming Get Away is scheduled to be a live show and will air December 11th from 6pm on Joyn. A page has not yet been created for the show, but it is safe to assume that Get Away will be free to watch.

Why is MontanaBlack dissatisfied with Twitch? In a September 2022 chat with YouTuber Staiy, MontanaBlack opened up about his dissatisfaction with his streaming home. 3 things particularly bother the streamer about Twitch:

• MontanaBlack has had a history of getting in trouble with Twitch for violating the platform’s strict rules on sexual topics. After he wanted to give young men advice in a “cool sex talk” in November, Twitch even threatened him with a permanent ban if he were to attract attention again with sexual topics.
• MontanaBlack has long been the largest German streamer on Twitch, even one of the largest in the world. Nevertheless, Twitch backed down after talking to him about an exclusive contract for half a year.
• Twitch is becoming less lucrative for large streamers. Some of the changes that the platform has introduced over the last few months don’t suit MontanaBlack at all. Among other things, the participation of streamers in the income from paid subscriptions has been reduced.

Actually, he would have left Twitch long ago, according to MontanaBlack. But the competition was simply not there or was not interested in him.

At the moment, Joyn is probably not a real competitor for the streaming giant Twitch. However, it is evident that MontanaBlack is flirting with alternative providers. Maybe he also hopes to get Twitch to reconsider the exclusive contract.

Get Away isn’t MontanaBlack’s first appearance on television. He was already on ProSieben with Trymacs and Knossi at the Wok World Cup 2022 at the beginning of November and ended up there in a disappointing 8th place. Looking back, that wasn’t what annoyed him most about the show:
