Did you make that one really annoying mistake in Pokémon Crimson or Crimson? Did you give one of your pocket monsters a nickname that you regret? Or maybe even forgot to choose an individual name in the first place? Don’t worry, because this can be easily fixed in the two new editions. We’ll tell you how it’s done.

Change nickname in a few easy steps

In previous titles in the series, giving your Pokémon new names was sometimes a little more complicated. In Pokémon Radiant Diamond and Shining Pearl, for example, you first had to reach the city of Eternal and visit an NPC (the so-called name judge) there to give your pocket monsters nicer names if you weren’t satisfied with your first choice. In Crimson and Crimson, on the other hand, you can easily change your team’s names on the fly.

Here’s how to change the name to crimson/purple:

  • Brings up the X menu.
  • Select a Pokemon from your team from the bar on the left.
  • Click on the first menu item “Report”.
  • Click X again. By the way, the button at the bottom also shows you that you can change your nickname on this button. But that’s easy to overlook.
  • The button in which you can type the new name opens directly. Then just confirm. Finished!
