In Pokémon Crimson and Crimson, it’s easy to miss if you encounter a Shiny. We show how to recognize simple Shiny Pokémon.

Tokyo, Japan – The release of Pokémon Crimson and Crimson is the most successful launch Nintendo has ever celebrated. In the ninth generation, the trainers are moving to the Paldea region. While many mechanics have been adopted from Pokémon Legenden Arceus, Game Freak has made a few changes in the current Nintendo Switch title that make it harder to spot Shiny Pokémon. We show you tips so that you can find more Shinys in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson.

Pokemon Crimson and Crimson: Spotting shinys is harder – sound and animation are missing

With Pokémon Legenden Arceus, the series completely dispensed with random encounters with monsters for the first time. Crimson and Crimson also let you see which Pokémon you’ve found before the battle. However, it is not exactly clear from which point in time you can tell whether a Pokémon is Shiny. In order to make catching easier, your team should be at a high level – check the order of the Gyms in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson for quick training.

Can you spot Shiny Pokémon in the Overworld? Yes, you do. If you come across a Shiny Pokémon, you don’t have to fight to find out – the monster appears as a Shiny specimen. However, the noise and animation known from Pokémon Legends Arceus are no longer there. You have to rely entirely on your good eye to spot a Shiny Montser. But that means you don’t necessarily have to play with clay if you’re going for shiny Pokémon.

Nevertheless, recognizing shinys has become much more difficult. While the Shiny Hunt method in Pokémon Crimson and Crimson pays off extremely well, it also requires a bit of experience so that the coveted monsters don’t slip through your fingers.

Pokémon Crimson and Crimson: Recognizing Shinys – 5 tips for hunting

1. Pick images: If you don’t know exactly what what you’re looking for looks like, you could quickly run into a problem. Many shiny hunters often look for their next prey anyway, so a look at the Shinydex at bisafans.de worth it. There you can see what color a Shiny Pokémon has and no longer have trouble identifying it as such.

2. Choose the right Pokémon: Unfortunately, some Pokémon are difficult to hunt in mass encounters. Monsters like Pichu or Grudgedra are so tiny that it’s easy to miss a shiny specimen. So avoid small Pokémon and those where the shiny is difficult to see. Here, hatching eggs is more effective.

3. Pay attention to the environment: If you hunt in mass encounters, you should make sure that you can see the Pokémon well in the respective environment. For example, if you are looking for Sproxi, an environment with as little tall grass as possible is much better. Pay attention to where the Mass Outbreak appears and reset the spawns if necessary by setting the date of your switch to the next day.

4. Play on TV: The small screen of the Nintendo Switch makes chasing shinys more difficult due to the low resolution. So it’s best to sit in front of the TV to see dazzling monsters even better. If you prefer to play in handheld mode, we recommend setting the brightness to the highest level.

5. Take breaks: This almost makes us sound like a Nintendo loading screen, but works wonders if you’ve been hunting for a while. While most Shiny Pokémon should stand out among their normal-colored counterparts, tired eyes can throw a spanner in the works if you’re too hasty to unpack your picnic.
