WoW Dragonflight: All new mounts and where to get them

The new Dragonflight expansion for World of Warcraft is just around the corner. As always, there are plenty of cool mounts on the Dragon Isles just waiting to be part of your collection. MeinMMO reveals how you earn the new mounts.

How do you earn the mounts? As in previous expansions, most of the new mounts are rewards for a variety of different activities that you can complete daily in the game. You have to find hidden treasures, defeat rare opponents or achieve achievements.

But some mounts are also hidden behind tricky puzzles. Others are easily available from merchants. This usually requires you to earn a certain amount of reputation with a faction. Incidentally, it is currently particularly worthwhile to go hunting for old mounts, because 5 of the rarest mounts are now available.

How many mounts are there on the Dragon Islands? Around 30 mounts are currently known that will find their way to Azeroth with Dragonflight. That’s significantly less than previous expansions. For example, the Shadowlands had more than 100 mounts in their luggage.

But don’t worry, in addition to the normal mounts, the Dragon Islands also have the ability to ride dragons. This is an integral feature of the extension. You get your own dragon and can personalize its appearance down to the last detail.

It’s also very likely that later patches will implement more mounts and customization options for your dragons. By the way, Dragonflight will be released on November 29th week. Here are 3 things you should do beforehand while you can.

Kite riding made easy

Over the course of the Dragonflight campaign, you will gradually unlock 4 basic forms. You can then personalize them as you wish. This can be done, for example, through certain glyphs. Here we show you an addon that shows the locations of the dragon riding glyphs. With a large selection of shapes, colors and other features, there are hardly any limits to your imagination.

The 4 basic forms are:

• Renewed Proto-Drake ※ This kite is obtained as a reward for the Awakening Hope achievement. To do this, you must complete the quest lines on the Awakening Coast.
• Windborn Velocid Dragon – This dragon model becomes available during the campaign. It is part of the Plains of Ohn’ahra quest chains.
• highland dragon – You unlock this dragon during the campaign in the Azure Mountains.
• Cliff Wild Dragon – This dragon will also become available during the campaign. You unlock it by completing the quest lines in the Thaldraszus zone.

More personalization options for your kites will be added later. So far, a primalist form and a form for the gladiator mount are known.

Lizi, Thunderspine trampler

What mount is this? Lizi, Thunderspine Trampler is a large lizard.

how to get it In order to get the mount, you must complete the quest “Taming the Thunderspine Made Easy”. The quest can be found in the Plains of Ohn’ahra zone.

zenet chick

What mount is this? The zenet chick is a red bird.

how to get it The Zenet Chick hatches from the Zenet Egg dropped by the Zenet Avis monster. You can find this mob in the Plains of Ohn’ahra.

level strider carrier

What mount is this? The Ebenstrider Bearer is a large mammoth with even larger tusks.

How do I get the mount? To get this mount, you must complete the Centaur Hunt World Event in the Plains of Ohn’ahra.

Divine Kiss from Ohn’ahra

What mount is this? This mount is also a bird. It shares the model with the zenet chick, but is white in color instead of red.

How do I get the mount? This mount needs a little more work. First, you must reach fame level 9 with the Maruuk centaurs. You can find the Centaurs in the Plains of Ohn’ahra.

Find Adept Radiya and start the quest line that the NPC offers you. Once completed, you can talk to the NPC “Godoloto”. After that you have to get 3 different materials.

You get “Stolen Breath of Ohn’ahra” as loot from the last boss of the dungeon “The Attack of the Nokhud”. You can purchase Essence of Awakening from the Maruuki Centaur Quartermaster. You need fame level 7 for this. The last item “Magnificent Incense” can be produced by alchemists. Once you have obtained all the items, “Goldoloto” will offer you a quest. Complete these and you can add another mount to your collection.

What mount is this? The Vorquin are the mounts of the Dracthyr. These mounts come in multiple color variants. You can also purchase them with or without armor. There are a total of 8 versions to choose from.

How do I get the mount? You can purchase the Vorquin either in the Dracthy starting area or in Valdrakken, the capital of the Dragon Isles:

Azure Flutter, Verdant Flutter, and Tamed Flutter

What mount is this? These two mounts share a model but differ in their coloring. As the name suggests, these are dragonflies.

How do I get the mount? You get the mounts when you reach fame level 25 in the Dragonscale Expedition. You can either buy them directly or exchange them for various materials from the expansion.

Ottuks

What mount is this? Ottuks are cute otters, you can buy several of the cute animals at the same time.

How do I get the mount? For the Ivory Merchant’s Ottuk, you need to exchange 3 rings, which you can loot in the dungeons of Dragonflight. The Isakaara Trader’s Ottuk can be exchanged for 2 necklaces, which you loot in the Dragonflight raids. The otters are offered by Tattakiaka. You can find the merchant in the Azure Mountains.

You can purchase the brown or yellow Scout Rotuk from the Tuskarr of Iskaara at Renown level 25. The brown or yellow war ottuks are available from the tuskarr of Iskaara with max fame level 30.

Stormhide Salamanther

What mount is this? The stormhide salamander is a lizard.

How do I get the mount? The Stormhide Salamanther can be purchased from Mythressa in Valdrakken for 2000 Elemental Abundance. The resource is earned by participating in the Primalist Invasions world event.

tank bludger

What mount is this? Tank Clapper is a slug. Made of lava!

How do I get the mount? The Lava Snail is awarded for the Dungeons Glory meta-achievement. So you have to do all sorts of tricky tasks in the dungeons of Drangonflight.

magma cottage

What mount is this? Magma House is also a lava snail, but this time complete with house.

How do I get the mount? You will find an “Empty Magma Shell” on the Awakening Coast, which you need for the snail. However, we do not yet know where exactly the tank is located.

Angry Magmammoth

What mount is this? The Enraged Magmammoth is a fiery red mammoth with 4 tusks and menacing armor.

How do I get the mount? This mount is the reward for the Vault of Incarnations raid meta achievement.

Loyal Magmammoth

What mount is this? Another mammoth, also fiery red, but altogether less menacing.

How do I get the mount? That is currently still uncertain. What is certain, however, is that the trader “Yries Finger of Light” plays a role on the Awakening Coast.

Vicious Sabertooth

What mount is this? As the name suggests, these mounts are saber-toothed tigers. There is an Alliance version and a Horde version.

How do I get the mount? The mounts are a PVP reward for Dragonflight’s first season. So you have to participate in ranked arena games or battlegrounds.

Hailstorm Panzerdon

What mount is this? The Hailstorm Tank Don is a blue and white lizard/dinosaur hybrid.

How do I get the mount? The mount is a reward for the achievement Keystone Master of Dragonflight: Season 1. So you have to complete Mythic+ Dungeons.

Freed Slyvern

What mount is this? Slyverns are a cross between a fox and a wyvern, this one comes in a grayish coloring.

How do I get the mount? This is not known yet. Apparently it has something to do with the rare mob “Breeze Bite” in the Azure Mountains. However, it is unclear if the mount will drop as loot. You may have to invest a little more work and time.

Spirited skyclaw

What mount is this? The Skyclaw is also a Slyvern. However, this specimen is reddish-brown, like a fox.

How do I get the mount? It is not yet clear how you can get the mount. Stablemaster Zon’Wogi, a troll in the Azure Mountains, probably has something to do with it though. On his behalf, you must obtain different types of meat to feed the animals in his care.

Otter World Carrier Ottuk

What mount is this? This mount is a spectral otter.

How do I get the mount? The Otter World Carrier Ottuk is a reward for the achievement “Thanks for Carrying!”. For this achievement you must have collected 500 mounts.

Otto

What mount is this? Finally, another Ottuk, this time with a grey-bluish color scheme.

How do I get the mount? You have to connect the quest “The way to the heart of an Otto”. We don’t know where this quest is at this point.

More mounts from Dragonflight

Dataminers have found even more mounts in the Dragonflight data, such as a blue mammoth. However, these mounts usually have no real names, just descriptions (like “MammothblueV2”) and no localities. As soon as we know more, we’ll tell you
