Valheim: Mistlands update is almost ready, playable on the test server – News

The next major content update in Early Access for the survival and crafting game Valheim (for testing) is in the starting blocks. Added with the Mistlands update is another biome, new game mechanics, items, building options and more. You can already test the update on the public Valheim test server.

In the new Mistlands area you will meet nine new creatures and a biome boss. In addition, more than 20 new materials await you there, with which you can of course produce further weapons, armor and tools as well as upgrades for your settlement. New food and dishes ensure your character’s supply, and the building repertoire is also expanded to include new building elements.

Since the Mistlands – as the name suggests – are covered in fog, so-called “wisplights” are given to you, which provide a clear view and serve as a guide. But the combat system should also become more varied: If you consume food that contains the legendary substance “Eitr”, you become a magician and attack your opponents with elemental or blood magic. The chicken farm, the mushroom farm and the revision of the fishing system promise further variety in your Viking everyday life.

Incidentally, the Mistlands only appear in areas that have not yet been discovered. The developers therefore recommend starting a new game if you have already extensively explored your current game world.
