With The Callisto Protocol the question arises again: better frame rate or higher resolution? Here you can find all graphic modes of the horror game on consoles.

San Ramon, California – Recently the debate about 60 FPS (frames per second) in games has been getting louder. After titles like Gotham Knights recently disappointed fans with a fixed 30 FPS, many eyes are now on the performance of The Callisto Protocol. So that you don’t buy a pig in a poke, we’ll show you the expected graphic modes of the horror game on PS4, PS5 and Xbox – and which platforms pack the 60 FPS.

The Callisto Protocol: Graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X

The graphics modes on PS5 and Xbox Series X: The current generation of consoles has an easy game with The Callisto Protocol. On the PS5 and Xbox Series X, gamers can choose from two different graphics modes, each favoring performance and graphics quality. In our preview of The Callisto Protocol we had only been able to try the game in quality mode with 30 FPS.

The exact resolutions that The Callisto Protocol will achieve in each of the two graphics modes have not yet been confirmed by the developers at Striking Distance Studios. What is certain, however, is that 60 FPS is targeted in performance mode. The studio shared a tweet with fans a few weeks ago.

How the game works on PS4 and Xbox One: Those who play on the older PS4 and Xbox One, on the other hand, will probably have to accept some compromises. Striking Distance Studios has not yet commented on this either. However, based on experience with other current titles on older hardware, we would assume that the performance levels off at around 1080p resolution with 30 frames per second.
