Entrepreneur Elon Musk sued the Apple company on Monday after it threatened to remove Twitter from its app store.

“Apple has also threatened to remove Twitter from its App Store, but won’t tell us why,” the new owner of the social network wrote in a tweet.

Previously, the tycoon had criticized Apple for its policy and high commission on the App Store. On November 19, Musk wrote on his social media that “app store fees are obviously too high due to the iOS and Android duopoly.” “It is a hidden tax of 30% on the Internet,” he condemned.

Musk has previously criticized Apple charging an exorbitant fee for in-app purchases, calling it a “30% hidden tax.”and he took up that same rhetoric Monday, posting a meme suggesting he would rather “go to war” than pay the company’s 30% commission.

Last month, the billionaire bought Twitter for $44 billion and declared his intention to serve as CEO of the company. Musk has made a series of changes to the platform, which has lost a lot of revenue due to the advertiser flight.

To try to lower costs, the businessman announced massive layoffs and eliminated extra days off for those who keep their jobs. Also, promised to liberalize the editorial policy of the social network, which has received harsh criticism for censorshipas well as rethinking the approach to content moderation and permanent bans.
