FIFA 23: New Title Update 5 is here now, but players are missing 3 improvements in the patch

Title Update 5 is available in FIFA 23. We’ll show you what’s in the patch notes – and what players are still missing.

When is Title Update 5 coming? The new patch is now available for PS5, Xbox Series X|S and PC. That gave EA Sports via Twitter known.

This means that the patch is only available for the NextGen versions of FIFA 23 for the time being. The “old” consoles should therefore follow a little late.

But what is actually in the update? We look at the patch notes.

This is what the patch notes for the update show: The patch doesn’t seem quite as extensive this time as the last major gameplay update, which, among other things, ended the lengthy meta. Still, there are some interesting changes. We show you the most important ones.

• The “driven lobbed through pass” becomes a little less accurate if you don’t line up, and it also flies lower.
  • The pass is activated with L1/LB + R1/RB + Triangle / Y. So far it could be a strong option for passes into the interfaces in front.
• Sometimes goalkeepers did not react correctly to balls that were passed in front of them. That has been improved.
• Sometimes the ball could fly further away than expected when dribbling.
• In certain situations attempting to fire an outside kick shot could erroneously result in a flair shot.
• Fixed the placeholder images that sometimes appeared in Ultimate Team graphics.
• Adjusted referee logic when evaluating fouls when player makes contact with the keeper.

There are also other minor fixes to the gameplay, as well as other bug fixes in World Cup mode, career, Pro Clubs X Volta. There are also updates for various crests, scenes, the audience and other visual elements.

Overall, there doesn’t seem to be any major changes in the game. However, some fans want more adjustments.

What are players asking for? In the FIFA subreddit and on Twitter, some players are already reacting to the patch notes for Title Update 5. The first reactions show that they sometimes find other problems that should be improved.

Three in particular stand out:

• For some players, the controller settings apparently continue to reset themselves from time to time (via reddit). It can happen that certain customized settings are simply gone again and you have to reset them. This problem was already addressed in the last patch – but seems to be a problem for some.
• Some correct player faces are currently missing from the game. Recently, even a bug appeared in Ultimate Team, where the icon Drogba suddenly looked like Maldini on the pitch (via reddit).
• In addition, players (e.g. via reddit) that their radar disappears during a game. However, it can be very useful to keep track of things and to mount a strong offensive.

Overall, it also remains to be seen how the patch will ultimately affect gameplay. The next few days, when players get used to the patch, should show that quickly.
