Sifu will have a live-action film from the creators of John Wick

Sifu, the acclaimed martial arts adventure from Absolver developer Sloclap, is being turned into a live-action film by John Wick writer Derek Kolstad.

That is according to Deadlinewhich suggests that the film will retain the same basic kung-fu-infused revenge plot as Sloclap’s video game, complete with the twist that its protagonist ages each time he is resurrected by his magical pendant upon death, despite the world. around him remains the same.

Deadline says the film is described as “John Wick Meets M. Night Shyamalan’s Old.” In addition to his work on Sifu, Kolstad is currently in post-production on the fourth John Wick film, and is attached to a number of other notable projects, including the recently announced Streets of Rage film and the Splinter Cell animated series for Netflix.
