Friendly Fire 8: 86,000 people watch, collect over 1 million euros for a good cause – this is how the event went

Friendly Fire 8 is over and raised more than 1 million. However, the Twitch streamers Gronkh, PietSmiet and 9 others could not quite break the record of Friendly Fire 7. MeinMMO explains to you how much has been collected and to whom the funds will go.

What was Friendly Fire 8? Friendly Fire takes place once a year and is a charity stream. Well-known German streamers and YouTubers collect money for a good cause here. The stream ran for approximately 12 hours on December 3, 2022 and at its peak drew more than 86,000 viewers in front of the screen.

Stream collects more than 1 million euros, but misses record from 2021

How much money was raised? Friendly Fire 8 raised exactly 1,087,542 euros on December 3, 2022. But you can’t break the record from the previous year with that. There, the stream alone received 1,283,704 euros for various organizations through donations.

In addition, there was another 600,000 euros from merchandise such as T-shirts. It is not yet known how much merch has been sold in 2022. The sale is still ongoing.

How many people were watching? At peak times, more than 86,000 people watched the stream simultaneously on PietSmiet’s main channel (via sullygnome.com). Around 80,000 people watched for most of the event. Only after midnight did the number of viewers drop continuously.
