Cyberpunk 2077 will have a Game of the Year edition

Cyberpunk 2077 will be re-released with a Game of the Year edition, developer CD Projekt has confirmed.

As expected, this bundle will include next year’s paid Phantom Liberty expansion, as well as all other free updates released so far.

The announcement of the Cyberpunk 2077 Game of the Year Edition bundle has gotten some attention considering the state of the game in the year it was released, though the “GOTY Edition” branding has now been used so much that it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

“It is the natural order of things”, said the president of CD Projekt RedAdam Kicinski. “The same thing happened with The Witcher, which, after both expansions, was finally released as a Game of the Year edition and has been on the market that way ever since. The same can be expected in this case.”.

The inclusion of Phantom Liberty, which will skip last-gen consoles to hit only PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S, means that Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming Game of the Year edition will also be limited to those platforms.
