Servers remain online
However, those responsible will not switch off the game. So Gwent: The Witcher Card Game can be played on PC and mobile devices even after the last replenishment of cards. the console version of the title was discontinued in 2020. “Project Gwenfinity” is what CD Projekt Red wants to call the future of Gwent. Here only a very small team should take care of the maintenance of the game. Further balancing updates are also planned for the future.
Community takes the helm
The development team would like to put it entirely in the hands of the players as to which cards need to be improved or weakened in the future. As the Community Vote CD Projekt Red has not revealed what it will look like in the end. The idea behind this is that players keep tweaking the cards to the meta that is currently in Gwent. A rotation is no longer planned after the last map expansion.
Only in July 2022 was with Gwent: Rogue Mage also released a paid single player expansion for the card game. Here the team has integrated roguelike elements, among other things.
