Elden Ring is followed by mech action: From Software announces Armored Core 6

from Jonathan Harsh
From Software announced their next project at the Game Awards. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is scheduled for release in 2023 for PC and consoles.

From Software was also present at the Game Awards 2022 – but not with news about Elden Ring or the announcement of a Bloodborne remaster. Instead, the studio will revive its Armored Core mech action series. Unfortunately, no gameplay can be seen in the first released trailer presented as part of the show, but the video at least gives a first impression of the game. Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is scheduled for release in 2023 for PC (Steam), PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.

Alleged leaks give an insight into Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon

Since there is still no official additional information that often accompanies Reveal trailers, you can only rummage around in the rumor mill for details about the direction of the title. The last branch of the series, Armored Core V, was released in 2012. Since then, From Software has developed into a different studio – even if Demon’s Souls and the first Dark Souls were already on the market at that time. It will be exciting to see if the Souls fragrance brand will rub off on the Armored Core series as well. After all, Miyazaki was already involved in AC 4.

At the beginning of this year, rumors about a new Armored Core were already circulating, which were even backed up with screenshots (via Eurogamer). The information should come from a consumer survey and reveal that Hidetaka Miyazaki is personally responsible for the game world. In addition, it should be a third-person mech shooter with a huge map. With the game slated for release in 2023, more information will likely be forthcoming.
