There's now a crazy hell mount in WoW - but you have to buy Diablo IV for that

The amalgam of anger in World of Warcraft looks extremely bleak. If you want it, you’ll have to buy Diablo IV though – and there’s a catch.

At The Game Awards, Blizzard announced the release date for Diablo IV and opened pre-orders. Along with this comes some rewards in other games, such as World of Warcraft. The “Amalgam of Rage” is pretty dark and looks really dangerous.

What kind of mount is that? The Fury Amalgam is a sort of “three-headed hellhound” with quite a lot of detail. Not only do the dogs breathe fire, but parts of their body are also singed by the flames, so that either the fur is burned and in some places even the bones can be seen. As soon as the amalgam takes off, flaming flights form on the sides, allowing it to be used as a flying mount as well.

How do you get the Amalgam of Rage? Since it is one of Blizzard’s already known “cross promotions”, the amalgam can be bought for real money. You have to decide to pre-order Diablo IV. Which of the versions you choose (between €70 and €100) is irrelevant. If you complete the pre-order, you will immediately get the Amalgam of Rage unlocked for your WoW account and you can use it as a flying mount from now on.

Mount has little use in Dragonflight: However, it is important to mention here that the “Amalgam of Rage” will have little use in the current expansion Dragonflight and the Dragon Islands. Because in Dragonflight, all players primarily use the four different dragons, since only they can be used for “dragon riding”. While it is possible to “use” flying mounts in Dragonflight, they can only be used as ground mounts here.

At least according to the current patch status, you would only be able to use the Amalgam of Rage outside of the Dragon Isles in the old content.

Who is it worth it for? Currently, the mount is probably worthwhile especially for collectors who really want to own every mount in World of Warcraft or anyone who is absolutely sure that they will definitely play Diablo IV. However, since Amalgam of Rage will have next to no use in Dragonflight, there’s no rush to get this mount. So you still have a few months to decide if you want the mount.

Will you get the mount with or without the intention of playing Diablo IV? Or isn’t the mount appealing to you if you can’t use it in Dragonflight anyway?
