The ninth generation of Pokémon recently saw the light of day with the games Crimson and Crimson. Appropriately, a new official anime series has now been announced, in which not only some of these pocket monsters, but also fresh main characters are involved. So we’ll probably have to say goodbye to Ash first, but we’ll get fresh characters in return.

This is what awaits you in the Pokémon anime in the near future

It’s all about this: The Pokémon Company Group has already given us the names of the two new characters in a press release. The new main characters are called Liko and Roy, but they’re only getting started in the Japanese version. But the series should also premiere in 2023.

The starters Felori, Kwaks and Krokel, which we know from the two new Pokémon game editions, will also play a role. In addition, the dazzling form of the legendary Rayquaza is also included. From the plot we can expect the typical franchise themes: adventures and mysteries in the Pokémon world, battles and funny pocket monster encounters.

This is of course still a bit vague. If you need details, you have to be patient a little longer. This does not exist yet.

And what’s next for Ash? The hero, whom some fans have been following since the nineties, also gets a worthy farewell with some special episodes – the same goes for his Pikachu, of course. We should also get a glimpse of his future.

What do you think: is it about time for new main characters or could you continue with Ash for another 20 years?
