Finale at Epic Games: Strong hints of new free game hold a surprise

from Thilo Bayer
At 5 p.m. today comes the last 24-hour free game at Epic Games. Due to the teaser graphics, there are strong indications as to which game it could be. It would be a surprise though.

After a good two weeks of 24-hour free play at Epic Games, the finale is likely to come today. Expect today’s offering to be the final mystery game. In other words, starting today, Epic Games is switching back from a daily to a weekly rhythm.

What’s up today?

From 5 p.m. it will be exciting again and once again the community has shown eagle eyes. A few times Epic itself has hidden clues in the teaser graphics of the “mysterious games”. And that seems to be the case this time too. in the Game wrapping paper today it clearly hides that Dishonored game series logo. This is a surprise though.

After all, Amazon is currently offering Dishonored 2 as a free game via Prime Gaming. “Given away” is the GoG version of the game. The fact that Amazon has already pushed ahead should be classified as very unfortunate and raises the legitimate question of why Bethesda is running two giveaways at the same time. However, it could be that Epic came up with a special bundle, as was the case with Tomb Raider, when three games were offered for free at once. The Dishonored series includes a total of two main games and an independently executable side game (Death of the Outsider). So maybe there will be a bigger bundle at 5 p.m.

Mortal Shell is still available for free at Epic Games until 4:59 p.m. The souls-like action role-playing game is certainly worth a look, but of course it doesn’t reach the level of Dark Souls 3 or the Elden Ring. In addition to the base game itself, the add-on “Rotting Christ Pack” is also offered free of charge, which contains alternative soundtracks for the bosses in the game.
