WoW: Lizi’s Reins – How to get the Thunder Lizard Mount

Initiate Radiya tasks you with taming Lizi.

from Sarah Petzold
Just in time for the start of WoW Dragonflight, we can again raise a special mount in the latest expansion. This time it’s Lizi, the Thunderspine. In our guide, we explain what you have to do to be able to ride Lizi into battle.

Mounts that we raise by hand have a long tradition in World of Warcraft. From Venomhide Ravasaurus in Un’Goro Crater to Kuafon in Zuldazar, in the past we’ve had to laboriously bottle feed a little pup for days so we can later ride it as an adult mount. Dragonflight is no exception, because this time we can unlock a special mount that, like other rearing mounts, costs us a few days of work.

at Lizi’s reins While it’s less of a mount that we raise from an early age and more of a mount that we have to tame, the principle behind it remains the same and is in the tradition of Kuafon. Accordingly, the associated quest is also called “Taming the Thunderspine made easy“, based on the Kuafon success “Taming Pterrordax made easy“. But first things first: we will now explain how you can get Lizi, the thunder spine as a mount.

Getting Lizi’s Reins – Requirements for the quest line

In order to even start the quest chain to obtain Lizi’s Reins, you must meet a number of requirements. This includes:

  • side quest around Initiate Radiya completed in the Plains of Ohn’ara (starts the quest “sneak out” at the Ohn’iri Springs in the south of the plains; can be done during the leveling phase)
  • Reached level 70
  • Reached renown level 9 with the Maruuk Centaurs (unlocks the questline for Lizi’s Reins at Radiya)

Quest for five days – This is how her thunder spine unlocks Lizi as a mount

If you have fulfilled all these requirements, you can go to initiate Radiya

Return to the Ohn’iri Springs in the Plains of Ohn’ara to accept the quest Taming the Thunderspine Made Easy. This first task begins the process of taming Lizi, which takes a total of five days and includes the following tasks (always labeled with the same quest name):

  • Day 1: Earn 150 Supplies of the Dragon Isles and 20 Fluorescent liquid to Radiya. You can get fluorescent liquid from all insects in the Dragon Isles, such as in the Swampwood Bog south of Treestep Outpost in the northeast of the Plains of Ohn’ahran.
  • Day 2: Bring 150 Dragon Isle Supplies and 20 Fibrous leaves to Radiya. You get the leaves from all plant creatures in the Dragon Islands. It is best to farm them in the Emerald Gardens south of the Shadow Sanctuary in the west of the Plains of Ohn’ahran.
  • Day 3: Now you need 150 Dragon Isle Supplies and 10 thousand bite spiranhaswhich you can fish anywhere in the Dragon Islands.
  • Day 4: Next, Radiya will ask you for 150 Dragon Isle Supplies again and 20 Woolly mountain pelts. These pelts drop from Dragon Isles goats, yaks and mammoths – a good farming spot is at the Ember Watch Crags in the north of the Plains of Ohn’ahran.
  • Day 5: On the final day, you must deliver 150 Dragon Island Supplies to Radiya one last time. Also, you need a portion Meluun’s green currywhich you at Oh Melun southwest of the Ohn’iri Springs (at coordinates 53/78). Remember to accept the related quest from Radiya beforehand, otherwise, Ohn Meluun won’t sell you the curry.
