The streamer Brandon “Atrioic” Ewing has been active on Twitch and YouTube since 2011 and has built up his channels over the years. But Twitter users have now caught him clicking on a page in a stream that shows paid “deepfakes” from Twitch streamers. That ruined his reputation and career.

What was the streamer caught doing?

  • On Jan. 30, a clip circulated showing that Twitch streamer Atrioc had a tab open in his browser showing a deepfake website (via twitter). It featured montages based on famous female Twitch streamers. The pictures and videos were pornographic. The clip has now been deleted – attempts have been made to curb the spread of the clip and the page.
  • The website is structured similar to OnlyFans, like kotaku white: It requires a subscription to see the images. So it was clear that Atrioc must have paid for the service.
  • It is also tricky that Atrioc is friends with some of the Twitch streamers who were portrayed pornographically in deepfakes, and they only found out that the website existed through this error. Affected streamers like QTCinderella were deeply shocked and concerned that such images existed.

Twitch streamer emphasizes that he is actually very different, that he is committed to women

This is what the streamer says: In a Twitch stream, Atrioc explains his situation. The Twitch streamer says he’s been trying to make women feel comfortable on Twitch for years.

He has always campaigned against sexist things, does not tolerate that, bans sexist sayings as soon as he sees them.

First researched deepfakes, then clicked on the fake ad on the porn site

Then how did the incident happen? The matter was now a one-off event, at 2 a.m. and the girlfriend was out of town:

It was 2am and I’ve been reading so shitty stuff about artificial intelligence, deepfake music, deepfake art and I’m on these damn discords. It’s all so embarrassing. I was on the fucking Pornhub site, on a regular website, and there was an ad, it was that ad on every fucking video – so other people must be clicking on it because it was on every video.

Twitch streamer closes the page – Atrioc wants to pay for it

What about the website? Like the side Vice writes, the operator of this website has meanwhile removed the content from the internet and published an apology. It says it was “eye-opening” how Atrioc was treated.

Atrioc himself explained (via twitter), the closure was probably not as voluntary as the operator portrays it. The website was closed through the use of the streamer QTCinderella and a law firm.

Atrioc says it will cover the costs of the closure and will also provide financial support to women who need legal help.

To show that he wants to focus on that, he will stop producing content. At least for a while.

How is this discussed? Many streamers and content creators have now addressed the case. From Forsen to xQc, almost everyone has commented on the clip.

The affected streamers have also spoken about being portrayed in this way, especially QTCinderella.

During the discussion it is noticeable that controversial content creators like Keemstar seem to be happy that with Atrioc an “actually nice guy” with something like that is now noticeable (via Twitter).

It then means: The people who pretend to be friends of women are actually the perverts on Twitch.

Atrioc says: Some people would also have promised him their support in the matter. What he did wasn’t wrong at all, he didn’t have to apologize for it. He wants to say to people: “Fuck you. Honestly, I don’t want your support. I’m not on your side.”

Atrioc’s behavior shocks so many – including himself – because it was not at all expected of him. For other streamers, career collapse seemed only a matter of time:
