Back 4 Blood developer Turtle Rock Studios has announced that it will end content support post launch.

In a message posted on its website, the studio claimed that it did not have the resources to continue creating content for Back 4 Blood, while at the same time focusing on creating its next unannounced game.

“Turtle Rock Studios is actually quite small for a studio that makes AAA games,” he wrote. “We don’t have enough people to continue working on Back 4 Blood content while we spin another game.

“Given this, it’s time we put our heads down, head back to the lab, and get to work on the next big thing.”

Back 4 Blood will continue to operate, Turtle Rock said. The game is currently available in PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers and as part of Xbox Game Pass.

Back 4 Blood was released in October 2021 and received three post-launch expansions. The game’s latest major expansion, Children of the Worm, launched last summer with a new story, campaign, character, and more.
