Stalker 2: Signs of Life with Soundtrack Sample on Steam

from Michael Miskulin
The development of Stalker 2 is progressing: Now the development team is reporting another sign of life.

As is well known, the development of Stalker 2 had to be temporarily suspended as a result of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine – the responsible studio GSC Game World was based in the Ukrainian capital Kyiv. A postponement of the release date could not be prevented and further postponements remained a tolerable topic. But now there is a new sign of life for Stalker 2.

Stalker 2: Insight into the atmospheric soundtrack

The sign of life for Stalker 2 arrives in the form of a newly unveiled soundtrack sample in an official Steam post from the developers. The soundtrack sample to listen to is entitled “Come to Me” and is presented as a trailer theme. The track is around 2 minutes long and conveys a mysterious and tense atmosphere. There are no lyrics to be heard. In the Steam post, the developers write: “Familiar calls ring out louder than anything around us. Are they strong enough to drown out any noise in the Zone, or do they come from inside our heads?” And further: “Only an answer would bring the truth to light.”

Stalker 2 aims to offer an epic, non-linear story. Also, your decisions will affect both short-term consequences and global outcomes. The game takes place in the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone and will have new locations along with the old ones. In addition to the Unreal Engine 5, motion capture and photogrammetry are also used for sufficient graphic finesse. Stalker 2 will support ray tracing and should offer extensive mod support early on.
