Microsoft’s announcement of expanding its cooperation with OpenAI and the popular AI tool ChatGPT is bearing fruit: As the company announced on Tuesday evening, both the Edge browser and the Bing search engine will be equipped with a Chatbot based on ChatGPT should act even smarter than the currently used version of OpenAI.
A first test phase of Bing with ChatGPT has already started: users can use the advanced search for a limited number of queries, there is also one for the full user experience waiting list, where interested parties can register. In the coming weeks, Microsoft wants to open this to several million users. The mobile version of Bing should also receive the ChatGPT update.
Like Microsoft in the associated blog post reported that the integrated chatbot received an improved learning model compared to the original ChatGPT. In combination with various tools and services, which the company combines under the code name “Prometheus”, the new AI software designed specifically for search engines should be able to satisfactorily solve complex problems.
Even simple search queries via Bing should be able to deliver more reliable results with the new feature. Microsoft Edge, on the other hand, gets a slightly different integration of ChatGPT in its sidebar: the browser should now be able to write a post for social networks or provide a summary of longer articles.
