Resident Evil: Death Island brings together the coolest heroes from Resident Evil in one CGI movie

Chris, Jill and Leon make their first appearance together.

This summer we can look forward to new horror additions to the cinema. Resident Evil: Death Island is a CGI movie that takes us back to the zombie-infested world. An official teaser trailer already reveals which protagonists from the Resident Evil games we can look forward to.

What’s the film about? Leon S. Kennedy, who also stars in the upcoming Resident Evil 4 Remake, is on a rescue mission. His goal is to rescue the kidnapped Dr. rescue Antonio Taylor from his captors.

He meets a “mysterious woman”, as the description says. But at the end of the trailer, we can clearly see that this is Jill Valentine, whom we already know from Resident Evil 3 Remake:

Meanwhile, Chris Redfield, who starred in Resident Evil 6, investigates a mysterious zombie outbreak in San Francisco. The only thing the victims have in common is a visit to Alcatraz Island, where numerous zombies from the sea await Chris.

One scene features biomutated zombies being freed from a cage and unleashed upon humanity. Other shots show a mutated shark making a beeline for the camera. So we can look forward to some zombie species.

Well-known names behind the scenes

Two familiar faces are responsible for the CGI film. We already know director Eiichiro Hasumi from his work on “Assassination Classroom”. The screenplay was penned by Makoto Fukami, best known for his work on Psycho-Pass.

What time does the movie start? Resident Evil: Death Island is slated for a worldwide release in Summer 2023. This is the fourth Resident Evil CGI film, following Resident Evil: Degeneration, Resident Evil: Damnation and Resident Evil: Vendetta.
