Subnautica Developer Promises: Big Announcement Coming
The developer studio Unknown Worlds, which is known for titles like Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero, would like to publish the first details of their new title via showcase just in time for the start of Gamescom at the end of August.
Publisher Krafton, who took over Unknown Worlds in October 2021, made a statement in February 2022 that the Subnautica team was working on a new game. It is interesting that this is not the third part of Subnautica (buy now /€17.99 ) but a new, independent brand that is only known under the name “Project M” so far.
What is already known?
The project was announced by Krafton back in February. It’s said to be a turn-based sci-fi strategy game that’s rumored to be “gene-defining.” So the expectations are high. Since then, however, there has been no more detailed information about “Project M”. So the Gamescom showcase is eagerly awaited by both Subnautica fans and strategy game enthusiasts. So we can be excited and (hopefully) look forward to some new information.
Is there a release date yet?
In addition, the official title of “Project M” should finally be announced. A tweet from producer and presenter Geoff Keighley indicates that even first gameplay could be seen. This is particularly interesting since the early access phase of the game has already been announced for this year and thus the announcement of an official release date is also within the realm of possibility.
So fans of the Subnautica series can look forward to the presentation of the Unknown Worlds co-founder Charlie Cleveland, who will soon officially present “Project M” to us at the Gamescom Early Opening Showcase. If you want to be there live, you shouldn’t do anything on August 23 at 8 p.m. The announcement will take place on this date. What do you expect from the new project of the Subnautica makers? Tell us in the comments!
