WoW: 734 attempts – Jäger solo defeats Count Denathrius in Castle Nathria
After weeks of progress and a total of 734 attempts, a Beast Mastery hunter in WoW: Shadowlands managed to defeat the final boss of Nathria Castle at the end of Season 3. It was the hardest solo kill since the mythical Kil’jaeden in Tomb of Sargeras.
Some WoW players have fun trawling through the dungeons with their friends or slapping raid bosses. Others, on the other hand, prefer to hit each other in the head in PvP or simply quest through the various stories. A few players, on the other hand, are looking for the challenge of playing group content completely solo. It can be dungeons or raids.
It is of course not very impressive to defeat any old bosses from previous expansions. But if it’s the final boss of a raid in the current expansion, then that’s something else. And that’s exactly what the Beastmastery hunter Durendil did. Even before the start of the 4th season, he was able to defeat Count Denathrius solo in Nathria Castle – after more than 700 attempts!
Several weeks of progress
According to his own statements, Durendil dealt with Denathrius for eight weeks and was only able to defeat him in the 734th attempt. It was the hardest solo kill since Kil’jaeden in Tomb of Sargeras – at least according to Durendil. And he should know, as he has defeated many bosses solo in the past. Including many bosses that stand before Denathrius in Castle Nathria.
While phases 1 and 3 appeared to be relatively easy, the crux of the matter was phase 2. Getting the adds under control and still getting to the final phase quickly was tricky. To do this, Durendil switched back and forth between area damage builds and single target damage setups several times. Most of the wipes were still in phase 1 – because the DpS requirements were extremely high here and Durendil often failed. Interestingly, the final stage, which is by far the hardest stage for most raids, was the easiest for the solo player.
Have you already tried your hand at bosses from the current expansion and were you perhaps even successful? Or do you think it’s all a waste of time and prefer playing the content the way it’s meant to be – with a full party or a full raid? Tell us in the comments.
