Cyberpunk 2077 finally breaks the 20 million sales mark
After the recent surge, Cyberpunk 2077 has finally managed to hit the 20 million sales mark. In April, CD Projekt Red had reported just 18 million sales.
All’s well that ends well?
Now Cyberpunk 2077 has reached this sales milestone. This is due to the growing interest in the game fueled by the recent Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and its accompanying Edgerunners update. The discount that allowed players to dive into Night City for half price should have helped a bit too.
Over 20 million cyberpunks have been roaming the streets of Night City – partying with Jackie and getting to know Johnny, driving around with Panam and diving with Judy, hanging out with River and listening to Kerry’s songs.

CD Projekt Red would certainly have wanted such an interest for the release of Cyberpunk 2077 on December 10, 2020. However, the game was unsuccessful after the game had suffered from numerous technical problems after three delays. On the contrary – the open-world ARPG was even heavily criticized and there was a large wave of returns. Finally, the title was temporarily removed from the PlayStation Store.
