Humankind: Console versions postponed indefinitely
AMPLITUDE Studios’ newest strategy game, Humankind, has been out for over a year now. So far, the title is only available on PC, but actually a release for consoles should have taken place on November 4th this year, with a day-one release in Xbox Game Pass. Unfortunately, the team arguably faced “some unexpected challenges,” hence the release of the console version had to be postponed indefinitely.
No console version of Humankind for the time being
“We apologize for the inconvenience, but rest assured that Sega Europe, Amplitude Studios and Aspyr are working hard to provide the best possible Humankind experience for console gamers. We can’t give a timeframe for a new release date at this time, but as soon as we can If we are able to, we will let everyone know. We thank the community for their continued support and understanding.”
All players who have already pre-ordered the title for console will probably receive a refund. In our Humankind test, we definitely had a lot of fun with the title, but we criticized the rather boring religion system and the lack of depth in diplomacy, among other things.
At least the latter will hopefully change soon, because the first major expansion to Humankind (buy now / €21.0)called Together We Rule, will be released on November 9th this year. The DLC focuses primarily on diplomacy and espionage. So if you haven’t been able to get used to the system yet, you should definitely keep an eye on the release date.
