CoD Warzone 2: DMZ Building 21 – What is the new area all about?

Call of Duty: Warzone 2 Mid-Season 1 was supposed to bring a new area to DMZ extraction mode. However, “Building 21” only opens its doors to curious players later. Everything you need to know so far can be found on MeinMMO.

What is Building 21? According to current information, this is a completely new, playable area away from the normal DMZ map Al Mazrah. However, shortly after the start of Mid-Season 1, Building 21 is not in the game. In German, the area is called “Building 21”.

As soon as the area is active, you have to get a special keycard on the normal map in order to get access to this area at all.

The concept is reminiscent of the hardcore shooter Escape from Tarkov. Here is the “Labs” – a kind of endgame area that is only accessible to players with a Labs keycard.

When is Building 21 coming? There is currently no date for the new area of ​​the DMZ.

How do I get a key card? Although the area is not yet available in the game, the keycard can already be found. Players have already discovered the following methods:

• Bring down the big commander’s heli from the sky
• Capture a SAM turret (the missile icon on the map) and collect the supplies
• At the end of a DMZ match, more planes will fly over the map and drop supplies
• Basically loots all supply drops that come from the sky
• Steals the keycard from another player

However, the methods discovered do not give you any guarantee that you can actually bag a keycard for Building 21.

If you have found a keycard, make sure that you leave the map as soon as possible. Once you’ve extracted them, store them in your key cabinet until Building 21 is available.

What can I find in Building 21? It is currently not possible to say for sure. It is already known that it is a kind of biological laboratory. The new Chimera assault rifle can also be found here – but you can also get it by other means.

You will also find strong smuggling weapons with many attachments, lots of loot in safes and many locked doors that only reveal their secrets with additional keycards.

According to the CoD blog, only the toughest and best operators survive here. However, we will only be able to assess how hard the new area is after the release.

DMZ mode is a Call of Duty initiative to break into the popular extraction shooter market. The mode is currently still in beta status and offers relatively little content. However, a new area like Building 21 indicates what CoD still has in mind here.
