At the moment, the development team at Battlefield 2042 our hands full trying to remove the bugs from the game. The recently released one Update 3.1 fixed numerous game bugs and changed the balancing of the multiplayer shooter. It will take a while before new content can come.

But Battlefield 2042 insider Tom Henderson now revealed content that could come in the future. This is a feature that only partially made it into the game and was therefore received differently by the players.

More weather disasters could come

Could there be a return? Henderson claims to have learned that the deleted content could return in new DLC content. The team probably needed more time to fine-tune the weather effects.

But Dice and EA have not yet commented on these rumors and these plans could be rejected again. Time will tell whether the content will even make it after Battlefield 2042.

Other features are sorely missed

Another feature that didn’t make it to Battlefield 2042 is the advanced destruction effects. According to Henderson, the team wanted to take these effects to a whole new level, but the hardware limitations thwarted the plans.

In its GamePro-Kolumne our editor Tobias explains why this missing feature puts salt in his wound. But as with the canceled weather effects, it could be that DICE is still planning to bring the destructive effects into play in some form.
