Juri Knorr’s promotion to the national team
In 2018, the then 18-year-old Juri Knorr did the hat trick and won the election for “LN Talent of the Year” for the third time in a row. And that after an eventful year: Promotion with the Baltic men in the 3rd handball league, election to the all-star team of the U18 European Championship and then the change to the big FC Barcelona, where he was the second team in the second division -Top led and was also used in the first and thus also became Spanish champion. Knorr is now back in Germany. Via Bundesliga club Minden, where he was one of the top performers, the Schwartauer’s path led to the Rhein-Neckar Löwen. Thomas Knorr’s son also made an international start, made his debut on November 5, 2020 against Bosnia-Herzegovina in the national team of national coach Alfred Gislason. He played the World Cup in Egypt with the DHB team and was also at the Olympics in Tokyo. Juri Knorr is one of the great hopes for the big tournaments in his own country, the EM 2024 and the World Cup 2027.
Anna-Lena Stolze scores goals in the Netherlands
After moving from ATSV Stockelsdorf to the big VfL Wolfsburg six years ago, the 21-year-old from Lübeck, LN Talent of the Year 2015, went her way continuously, played in the youth national teams of the DFB and made her debut for the “Wolves” in 2018 in the Champions League in the 1: 1 in the quarter-final second leg against Slavia Prague and in the Bundesliga in the 1: 2 against Bayern Munich. At the end of 2019, the Striker on loan to the Dutch club Twente Enschede, for whom she scored a brace in a 2-1 win in her debut in the top game against Ajax Amsterdam in February 2020 – including a goal from 50 meters. In the penultimate playoff game, she scored the winning goal that secured Twente the 2020/2021 championship. The offensive player has extended her contract with VfL Wolfsburg, which expires on June 30, 2022, for a further season until 2023 and will remain in Enschede until the end of the current season.
